Costa Rica

Welcome to one of Costa Rica’s last great fishing frontiers, where calm seas, endless bait, and unspoiled beauty make for a year-round angler’s paradise. Down south, near the Panamanian border, the Golfito and Puerto Jiménez area stays clear of the disruptive trade winds that can shut down other regions in winter. Here, every month offers prime conditions and an unmatched variety of inshore and pelagic species.

From the deep blue to the mangrove-lined shores, this region delivers it all, trophy sailfish, marlin, yellowfin tuna, dorado, snapper, grouper, roosterfish, and more. The abundance of bait in the Golfo Dulce creates a natural buffet, keeping predators close and action steady. Offshore waters offer thrilling big-game runs, while inshore fishing means hard-fighting species just minutes from port.

Costa Rica is known worldwide for its rich biodiversity, friendly people, and pura vida lifestyle, and the southern zone is its wild heart. Golfito, once a bustling banana port, is now a peaceful fishing hub surrounded by lush rainforest and glassy bays. Across the gulf, Puerto Jiménez borders the legendary Osa Peninsula and Corcovado National Park, where scarlet macaws soar overhead and howler monkeys call from the trees.

Touch down in San José, then soar over lush rainforest and shimmering coastline on a quick 45-minute flight to Puerto Jiménez or Golfito,or take the wheel for a breathtaking 5-hour drive through rolling mountains, vibrant villages, and well-paved coastal roads.

Golfito offer stays to match your style, from elegant 4-star hotels with full amenities to charming 3-star options that deliver comfort and local flavor.

Tahiti

Tahiti’s Islands in French Polynesia sit remote in the South Pacific, halfway between California and Australia, offering anglers access to 118 pristine atolls and islands. With towering peaks, clear lagoons, and unique beaches of white, pink, and black sand, these waters are a hidden playground rich with coral gardens and abundant marine life, perfect for serious fishing, diving, and snorkeling. The tropical climate stays comfortable year-round, with air temperatures near 80°F and warm water around 79°F.

This isn’t a luxury resort trip. There are no hotels, bars, or souvenir shops, just remote atolls where you’ll likely be the only angler on the water. When off the boat, enjoy swimming, snorkeling, or connecting with welcoming locals.

Fishing here is world-class, with opportunities to target aggressive marlin, powerful tuna, colorful dolphinfish, and fast-paced wahoo. If you’re seeking an authentic, off-the-grid fishing adventure with incredible species and untouched waters, Tahiti’s atolls deliver like nowhere else.

Galapagos

The Galapagos Islands lie exactly on the equator, about 600 nautical miles off the coast of Ecuador. Spanning 17,000 square miles, this young and vibrant archipelago is protected as the Galapagos National Park (“Parque Nacional de Galápagos”), one of the world’s most remarkable natural reserves.

To preserve this incredible ecosystem, only a limited number of native Galapagueños work here, primarily in park services, the coast guard, and the Ecuadorian Navy. Responsible tourism is carefully managed in partnership with the Park Service to ensure minimal environmental impact while supporting local communities.

The Galapagos is a true angler’s paradise, home to black and blue marlin and world-renowned as a mecca for striped marlin, he most acrobatic billfish of all. The productive banks off San Cristobal provide some of the best opportunities on the planet to hook multiple striped marlin in a day, with 30 to 50 sightings not uncommon.
